Lynette started her walk with Christ at a young age. She was the child of a pastor. She was baptized at the age of 10, at Fruitvale Baptist Church in Oakland, CA. Growing up with Sickle Cell Anemia gave her countless opportunities to experience God's grace on a personal level, and strengthened her faith. It drew her closer to God; as she learned how to depend on him for her life. As Lynette got older; she was trying to understand her calling & purpose in Christ. From the age of 18, all the way up until her late 40's, she visited many churches, never finding the satisfaction of a church home. On September 2012 she joined Zion Ministries where she continues to learn who she is, in Christ. Her confidence has grown. She feels more comfortable sharing her gifts, her love for cooking, and the unconditional love of God. Her walk has taught her that family is not only about blood relations; but also comes from being a part of the family of God. Lynette serves as Head Usher for Zion Miniatries, as well as lending her expertise to the Hospitality Ministry.
Shirley's journey began in 1996 when she joined "Cross In Hands Deaf Ministry" at Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Jose, CA. After the passing of her brother in 1997, Shirley was determined to spread the Word of God outside the church doors. She and her sister founded "God's Unspoken Ministry", with an emphasis on the hearing impaired. God's Unspoken Ministry uses sign language to effectively communicate God's Word through music. In 2008, Shirley established the first sign language ministry at Bible Way Christian Center in San Jose, CA. She served there five years. In 2015, she joined Zion Ministries Christian Center and became part of the outreach ministry. She especially enjoys serving the homeless and reaching out to women's shelters, and foster care organizations. In 2019, she was appointed Zion's Event Coordinator. God has restored her first love of serving others.
