Gus Makris, Jr.
Gus Makris, Jr. has overcome many obstacles in life, including growing up in a foster home. Gus always knew there was a God; for there had been divine intervention throughout his life. Although he had an aunt who was a devout Christian, who prayed for and counseled him, deep down he knew he needed his own relationship with the Lord. That relationship was established when his brother-in-law invited him and his family to attend San Jose Word of Faith Christian Center. Gus was saved and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit while a member. He realized after the passing of his mom that he was looking for something. That something was Jesus. Gus's life reveals God's mercy. He is the recipient of two organ transplants: a liver transplant in 2009, and a kidney transplant in 2017. Gus and his beautiful wife Lupe have a wonderful testimony of their marriage that produced three wonderful grown adult children, and seven grandchildren.
Lupita Makris received the Lord in 1990, at San Jose Word of Faith Christian Center. She is a witness to the healing mercies of God, not just for herself but for other family members, including her husband Gus. Lupita is excited about what the Lord is doing in her life. As she grows in the Lord; she is experiencing greater intimacy with Him. She has come to understand that love and forgiveness are the way to live a godly life. Her desire is to help others learn how to trust God, by sharing the Word. God's word is true. She believes it is up to every Christian to allow God's Word to come alive in them. Lupita has been married to, and serves as Deacon with her husband of 40 years, Gus Makris.
